Q: What is the difference between the terms "HIRE" & "RENTAL"?
A:

They are both the same and refer to the service our company provides our customers and allows you, the customer, to rent equipment from us on a casual or long term basis.


Q: What does "Short Term Rental" mean?
A:

From 1 day to 12 months


Q: What does "Casual Rental" mean?
A:

The same as short term rental


Q: What does "Long Term Rental" mean?
A:

From 1 year on, with a typical long term rental being 5 years.


Q: What do I get for my money when I rent a forklift on a short term basis / what is included in the rental?
A:
  1. Full support from the Avis Forklift rental team
  2. You get a reliable forklift
  3. Full maintenance on the rental forklift which includes:
    i. Repairs and services at your premises
    ii. Call outs for breakdowns
    iii. Servicing
    iv. Preventive maintenance repairs


Q: What is not included in the short term rental?
A:
  1. Operator, (driver) for the forklift, although we can supply you an operator.
  2. Fuel usage, the forklift comes completely filled
  3. Comprehensive Insurance, we will insure the forklift on your behalf and include it in the rental rate.
  4. Damages, abuse & negligence
  5. If you bend it we mend it u pay

Q: What is not included in the long term rental?

Q: What happens if the rental forklift breaks down?
A:

You report the breakdown and we dispatch the closest field service technician to attend to the problem

A:
  1. See Hire requirements Form, just fill it in and submit, and we will forward a quote immediately

Q: What is a forklift attachment?
A:
  1. A piece of equipment which usually attaches to the forklift.
    i. Attachments work either manually or hydraulically.

Q: Should I buy a used forklift instead of a new forklift?
A:

A used ex-fleet forklift would make an excellent choice when a company uses a forklift infrequently, or if the forklift is not critical to production. However if a forklift is utilised more than 3 hours per day or is critical to production (i.e. if production stops if the forklift has a breakdown) then our full maintenance rental would be preferable.
